An die Coachella….(1/2) / A Look Back at the 2018 X JAPAN Coachella Festival.

海

Hello, this is from music division. We are writing this as we look at my calendar marked April 17, 2020. The Coachella Festival, one of the world’s largest music festivals in California, USA, was scheduled to take place April 10-12 and April 17-19, 2020.

Today was supposed to be the first day of the second week, but due to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, it has been postponed to October 9-11 and October 16-18. Hatsune Miku, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and ONE OK ROCK are scheduled to perform from Japan. (The 2020 event has been canceled. The next festival will be held from April 9, 2021 to April 18, 2021. (As of 10/25/2020))

Since we have some time before the fall event, I’d like to take a look back at some of the most impressive Coachella 2018 “X JAPAN” stages in recent years!

2018/04/14 X JAPAN at Coachella Festival!

In 2018, Coachella (Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival) was held on April 13-15 and April 20-22. From Japan, X Japan performed on the 14th and 22nd. X Japan performed from the MOJAVE STAGE at the same time Beyonce headlined the main stage.

We can imagine that many of you were wondering which one to see in real time. Also performing on the X JAPAN stage were special guests Richard Fortus of Guns N’Roses and Wes Borland of LIMP BIZKIT.

X JAPAN was on stage with HIDE and TAIJI.

Many of you may have watched X JAPAN’s live performance on Youtube on the day of the event. YOSHIKI has sometimes expressed his determination to take HIDE and TAIJI to the world in his live performances and interviews. This dream came true on the Coachella stage this time.

HIDE (Guitar) and TAIJI (Bass) appeared on stage with hologram technology and the stage was filled with excitement.
