DEZERT is unique. Listening to their songs, some may feel that they are very retro but some may feel that they are a breath of fresh air. Yes, there’s something special about them.
So many years have already passed since Vkei was born in Japan. We know there are a lot of people who have an attachment to the music they heard when they were little and think that bands from the 90s are better, or bands that debuted after 2010 are better and blah-blah-blah.., but we feel that DEZERT is beyond such discussions…anyway please listen to this song first!
DEZERT’s conceptual look is fashionable and dark in mood. The music ranges from rap rock, hardcore/heavy metal tunes, emo tunes, and V-kei specific spooky tunes. No matter what kind of V-kei music you like, you will love one of DEZERT’s songs.
Listening to the song “Hentai,” one notices that vocalist Chiaki’s voice is both angelic and devilish. His voice is essential for DEZERT to be unique in this music scene. Also, SORA’s drumming is so exhilarating to watch. His drumming was very powerful and passionate in live performances such as VISUAL JAPAN SUMMIT and D’ER≠gari 2016 feat. DEZERT. In fact, he seems to be highly regarded by many senior drummers such as Tetsu of D’ERLANGER and Sakura of gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy.
