Formed on January 1, 2000. After performing in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, the band made its major debut with “-Believe-” on August 21, 2003. In 2006, their single “the WORLD / Alumina” was chosen as the OP and ED theme for the popular anime “DEATH NOTE,” and became popular even among those who do not normally listen to visual kei music.
While continuing their energetic activities, the band went on hiatus in 2016 after a live performance in Tokyo during their “NOT THE END” national tour. After a four-year recharging period, they resumed their activities with a live concert “NIGHTMARE 20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE “GIANIZM – Re-Evil”” at Yokohama Arena on February 11, 2020.
The band professes to be influenced by LUNA SEA and X JAPAN. The delicate and intricate melodies woven by the twin guitars and the weighty lyrics make their works lofty. Some of the songs, such as “Wasurenagusa” and “M-aria,” written by RUKA, are based on his own experiences.
