MALICE MIZER was formed in 1992 by Mana and Közi. They released their first album “memoire” completely self-produced. After the first vocalist Tetsu left the band, the second vocalist Gackt joined after a period of recharging. They made their major debut in 1997 with “Bel Air~kuuhaku no toki no naka de~”. Their artistic looks and music made them the greatest band all the time. In 1999, after Gackt left the band and Kami passed away suddenly, Mana, Közi, and Yu~ki released a series of instrumental songs. The music released during this period is so complete that it has a beauty beyond human comprehension. They gained a new fan base with the addition of the third vocalist, Klaha, but regrettably took an indefinite hiatus in December 2001.
Since 2008, the band has been holding “Deep Sanctuary” shows every two years, where Mana, Közi, Yu~ki get together. Their overwhelming worldview continues to captivate many fans around the world. The entire period, including the vocal-less period, can be called their golden age. MALICE MIZER is beyond superb, and the greatest band all the time.
